Actor Finn Haney is learning to embrace the struggles presented on the constantly shifting turns of the road ahead in the new comedy-of-age drama, ‘What We Find on the Road.’ The actor’s protagonist, TJ, is receiving help from his friends as he strives to overcome his fears of reuniting with his estranged father, who’s serving a long prison sentence.
Dada Films is set to distribute the project exclusively in theaters this Friday, September 20. In honor of the movie’s official release, Film Factual is premiering an exclusive clip from the feature.
‘What We Find on the Road’s official theatrical distribution comes after its recent critically acclaimed festival run. The project, which screened at 23 film festivals around the world, won several awards, including Best Lead Actor at the Pasadena International Film, a Gold Remi Award at World-Fest Houston International Film Festival and Best Dramatic Feature Film at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase.
Besides Haney, the movie also stars William Chris Sumpter (‘Goosebumps’), Katherine Laheen (‘We Crashed’), Paul Guilfoyle (‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’) and Ross Partridge (‘Daisy Jones & The Six’). Bill Haney wrote, and Chaysen Beacham made his feature film directorial debut on, the project.
In ‘What We Find on the Road,’ on TJ’s 18th birthday, a stranger delivers him a key from his father, last seen as he was hauled off to prison eight years earlier. With the key is the address for a proposed meeting – 3000 miles away and in two weeks. The key unlocks a timeworn 1968 convertible, with a coffin welded to its floor. With each decision that follows, TJ plunges deeper into the mysteries that are continuously presented to him.
